Having a DVD Library in Your Vacation Rental
by Robin Fowler

Having a small but varied collection of movies on DVD is an extra that your renters will love!

Having a basic library of movies for your guests to choose from will be an unexpected – and much appreciated – bonus for them! Your vacation rental might be located in a remote area, far away from the nearest movie rental place, or your guests might just be in the mood to unwind after a hard day of sightseeing or playing with a movie in the comfort of their vacation rental home. Adding this little amenity will certainly put you and your vacation rental in a glowing light for your renters! It’s not difficult to stock your vacation rental with a few choice selections for your renters, and it doesn’t have to cost much either!

When considering outfitting your vacation rental with a selection of movies, keep all of your potential renters in mind. Stock it with some action/adventure titles, some comedies, some dramas, something for the guys and the gals, and definitely some classic films. And don’t forget about your younger guests! Kids always love the Disney and Dreamworks movies (like Finding Nemo or Shrek), as well as shorter videos featuring their favorite characters like Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, and the Backyardigans.

To find more recent releases that are out on DVD, skip the department stores, and head to a local movie rental shop. You can buy previously viewed movies for less than a lot of times! Also, try garage sales and library sales, where you can often find titles that are kid and family friendly for pennies. Look for sales on not so recent movies at discount and department stores, many titles can be found for - . And if you have movies of your own lying around, either that you don’t watch anymore, or that are in VHS format that you have replaced with DVD, take those to your vacation rental too!

Just because your guests are on vacation doesn’t mean that they won’t be looking for a little time to just relax and hang out. Besides, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, your renters (especially those with kids!) will welcome and appreciate having something to entertain them, without having to venture out in the rain or snow to get a movie! A small but wide-ranging DVD collection will be an added bonus for your vacation rental property!
